Faro

We love Faro, there is a great deal of history, beautiful architecture, great shopping ( Forum Algarve) and some lovely restaurants. There are magnificent stone squares, in fact all the mosaic stone streets are kept in good order. There is a well preserved medieval quarter, (Cidade Velha), museums and a bone chapel behind the Igreja do Carmo. As I said Faro is a wonderful city and if you are in the Algarve this very Portuguese town shouldn’t be missed. Faro is the Capital city of the Algarve and is located in the Eastern part of the Algarve, and only about a one hour drive from the Spanish border.
